This is a 2,000-page treatise on the meaning and origins of all creation and the universe, the history of the world, and the life of Jesus of Nazareth。 First published in the 1950s, the text says that it comes directly from spirit beings, and it describes a vast expanse of multiple universes run by an elaborate bureaucratic system of spirit creatures。 Our universe is called Nebadon, and the title “Urantia” refers to the spiritual name for Earth。 It goes into some detail on the nature of God, the This is a 2,000-page treatise on the meaning and origins of all creation and the universe, the history of the world, and the life of Jesus of Nazareth。 First published in the 1950s, the text says that it comes directly from spirit beings, and it describes a vast expanse of multiple universes run by an elaborate bureaucratic system of spirit creatures。 Our universe is called Nebadon, and the title “Urantia” refers to the spiritual name for Earth。 It goes into some detail on the nature of God, the cosmology of Nebadon and the epochal history of Urantia。 Its scientific presentation is unusual for what is ultimately a religious book。 One of the more interesting sections is about Jesus, which presents him as a universe creator actually called Michael who came to Urantia as a mortal to earn the right to govern his creation。 He is not born of a virgin but by normal human conception, has several siblings in his Urantia family and a number of the events usually considered miracles are described as natural occurences。 He’s a talented linguist and scholar and travels widely, going to Egypt, Crete, through Greece and as far as Rome。 It's quite an intriguing text。 Despite its unlikely claims of cosmic origin, its authors are not clear。 Whoever they are, they seem to have consulted the scientific knowledge of the time, which is why some of it is no longer considered correct 65 years later。 The harsh racial commentary in the history section is uncomfortable to read, with its main novelty being to add a range of new colours to the human palette such as blue, green and orange。 The Jesus part clearly uses traditional Bible stories as some of its source material, which is expanded on with long philosophical monologues from Jesus and a detailed psychology of both him and all twelve of his apostles。 Wikipedia carries a good summary of the contents, and some of the scepticism about its contents by both Christian and non-Christian commentators。Although I have an open mind about the human condition, religious books are, generally speaking, difficult to take seriously, because they are usually full of contradictions。 Nevertheless, as I am interested in esoteric literature, this text was quite fascinating。 。。。more

I've read most of this book, but not all。 It is dense, difficult, ridiculous, revelatory, inspirational, moving, frustrating, boring and fascinating。Like most who do read this, I have completed the Jesus section which is straight up amazing。 This is the Jesus I want to exist。 It's so cool to read of his whole life, from birth to death and then to his resurrection (not to mention his Morontian form!)。The Adam and Eve chapters, the rebellion of Calagastia (and Lucifer), the different coloured peop I've read most of this book, but not all。 It is dense, difficult, ridiculous, revelatory, inspirational, moving, frustrating, boring and fascinating。Like most who do read this, I have completed the Jesus section which is straight up amazing。 This is the Jesus I want to exist。 It's so cool to read of his whole life, from birth to death and then to his resurrection (not to mention his Morontian form!)。The Adam and Eve chapters, the rebellion of Calagastia (and Lucifer), the different coloured people, the history of religion and the Melchizedek sections are incredible。There is a lot to take in and to be inspired by。 Think of it as a Sci-Fi version of the Bible, with the views of early 1900's American intelligentsia expressed explicitly。 Kind of Mormonism meets early 20th century science and rationalism (although there is some totally wild irrationalism, it is a religious text after all)。I wont go into criticisms, you can read others for this。 The good outweighs the bad。 It has definitely inspired my writing and poetry and its influence will be apparent in my next book。I hope to read it cover to cover one day。 。。。more

I have studied the UB since 1984。 Over the years I have introduced this work to others and eventually wrote my own book about the Urantia Book titled "Consider What the Angels Say。" From what I have eventually wrote my own book about the Urantia Book titled "Consider What the Angels Say。" From what I have observed, many people are skeptical towards it and simply do not buy that it is nothing other than a complex work of man。 I think the approach and mindset from the beginning sets the stage to how the UB will find validity and meaning to someone。 A person has to be a deeply philosophical and an abstract thinker by nature to absorb it。。。。someone with preconceptions, or who live their thought life on a standard ordinary mundane platform and who believe themselves to already have the answers to the universe via their religious cultural exposure will not likely take to the UB。 But I personally find it stimulating in tackling concepts and actually easy to understand if you face the facts of its claim of celestial knowledge coming from celestial beings who worked with a selection of human beings who contributed questions, comments, human knowledge, and interactions with said celestial contributors。 The overall theme of the Urantia Book is simple >> 。。。。。consciousness pervades throughout the universe and the energy of that consciousness manifest through connective phases of dimensional correlations that constitute reality from the static eternal pre-time dimension through the specificity and partial units of mind, spirit and matter。 God is the original and ultimate exhaustion of all reality centered in a necessary foundation of three personalities we call the Trinity and by such the rest of the universe is structured and formulated into reality by using space as a qualifier。 I think it is important to understand that numerous attempts of spiritual and material contact have been ongoing throughout history of which the Abrahamic/Hebrew writings have revealed some of these contacts and the UB is the primary contact written organization of the early 1900s along with lesser revelations during that time。 。。。。。。。。。。。The UB is not the only or last revelation that will be made but it follows on the heels of the major revelations of the Christ interface, the Melchizedek of Abraham interface, the mission of Adam and Eve and earlier celestial incarnations and manifestations。。。。。。in that> the UB does claim to be the 5th "Epochal Revelation。" The UB presents a holistic and cumulative picture of the universe and reality and the levels of spiritual beings >> and in their interaction to foster material evolution and generate the creation of human beings who are designed through their mind to be fertilized by spirit energy as to birth an eternal soul that is correlated with the eternal living energies of God's spirit。。。。。we call this being "born again" or spiritual birth。。。。。> Some of these beings near our dimension and involved with our planet went astray from the plans of God and took control of our world and hence our tragic history of evil, sin, and death and our very need to even have human religions。 The UB teaches of ongoing efforts by God's children, that is> the celestial, angelic, and spiritual beings, who are working through various realities, channels, contacts etc。。。。。。 to get earth back in line with the greater regional universe purposes and in unity with the larger and higher levels of spiritual universe administration and creative goals 。。。。。。。As a basic understanding, one needs to see the earth and our history as being one planetary unit among many evolving worlds, many dimensional level, and many systems and universes of worlds out in space and throughout eternity。 Therefore, the UB in its claim of supernatural revelation from a higher universe level, one must comprehend that everything told to us in scriptures while truth is therein, are basically earthbound in concept and purpose, so the teaching of Jesus being the only Son of God must be adjusted to realize that this deity of the New Testament while the creator of our region of time and space universe is one of many such deities who are equally the "Creator Sons" of the one eternal God in other detached and far reaching parts of the cosmos。 So to me, the UB is a textbook of information revealing the details of the larger universe and our planetary position thereto, and it is a gift to us by the revelators to help us understand where we are therein and the process of soul creation and eternal life。。。。。。but essentially, it's a gift, not a necessary mandate, not a religion one has to follow, and if its level of complexity and universalness seems too far fetched to you, then it is not intended for you in your present time and mindframe。。。。。。。 and those who are already comfortable in their religious preview and established specifics of faith might desire to remain where they are in theological parameters。。。。。 so yes。。。。。some will not relate to nor appreciate the UB, but it is here for those who can and will。 My view of the UB is that it is not hard to understand, but it does take time and personal interest, serious efforts to a continual study, otherwise, be content with what you already believe。 。。。more

This is a very interesting, as well as informative book, mainly when it comes to the description of God's creation and its evolution till the beginning of the 20th century。 It offers a different outlook at the development of religions than the bible, and the role of Jesus and Christianity in the New Testament。 Nevertheless, I found a lot of euphemisms (let's not forget this theory was popular in the early 20th century)。 I am a native speaker, so I read the Spanish translation, which was so poor This is a very interesting, as well as informative book, mainly when it comes to the description of God's creation and its evolution till the beginning of the 20th century。 It offers a different outlook at the development of religions than the bible, and the role of Jesus and Christianity in the New Testament。 Nevertheless, I found a lot of euphemisms (let's not forget this theory was popular in the early 20th century)。 I am a native speaker, so I read the Spanish translation, which was so poor that added to the difficulty of understanding the many obscure concepts presented at times。 For all of these, I gave it three stars。 。。。more

The craziest part of the book of urantia is essentially like its a serious version of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy。I know I know, thats a bit light hearted, but aside for the flippant nature of the way they shoot off crazy off shoots of known nomenclature, its very much a similar mood。Super complex and entirely requires repetitive reading to really let it soak in。not that what they entail is hard to grasp, but its a vast new concept being painted and it requires some acclimating。

Ugh。 People who channel material often think that whatever they write has to sound like the King James version of the Bible。 It doesn't。 A tip: God and his helpers don't sound like the King James version of the Bible either。 If you actually have material worth sharing, do it in plain English。 Or any other modern day language。 I could not finish this。 Anyone who does finish really likes to punish themselves。 I have a suspicion most people only browse for the "good stuff。" Ugh。 People who channel material often think that whatever they write has to sound like the King James version of the Bible。 It doesn't。 A tip: God and his helpers don't sound like the King James version of the Bible either。 If you actually have material worth sharing, do it in plain English。 Or any other modern day language。 I could not finish this。 Anyone who does finish really likes to punish themselves。 I have a suspicion most people only browse for the "good stuff。" 。。。more

This book [allegedly written by Celestial beings] is the most profound documentation of who Jesus was and how He took on His role as revelator of the Fatherhood of God and teacher of the brotherhood of man。 From before He was born of woman, to His resurrection and ascension。 And so much more! If one is truly a seeker of Truth and the who and the how we are, this is a must。

All my life I have been interested in spirituality and my own personal search for truth。 My journey has included various types of Buddhism, Hare Krishna, Catholicism, Shamanism, etc。 In all of them, I found something that attracted me—something that I felt was true。 But I also felt that something was missing in every one of them。 The only thing I was certain of is that there must be some higher power that created us and this world, and that we are not some cosmic coincidence。 The rest of the pic All my life I have been interested in spirituality and my own personal search for truth。 My journey has included various types of Buddhism, Hare Krishna, Catholicism, Shamanism, etc。 In all of them, I found something that attracted me—something that I felt was true。 But I also felt that something was missing in every one of them。 The only thing I was certain of is that there must be some higher power that created us and this world, and that we are not some cosmic coincidence。 The rest of the picture in my mind was a total mess, with bits and piece from various religions and spiritual teachers。Luckily for me, I had an advanced teacher (a PhD in philosophy) in my family。 He has been very helpful as a guide in my spiritual search。 He never directed me in any way, but just gave me advice about every topic in which I was interested at the time。 He was a watcher and adviser of my journey。In 2016, I saw The Urantia Book on his table。 He said that if I wanted to know the truth, this is the book I should read。 I bought it immediately, but it took me almost a year from that point to finish reading it。 We Lithuanians are lucky to have it in our own language—otherwise it might be too challenging。When I started to read The Urantia Book, I was both stunned and transformed。 I had never felt so peaceful and sure。 This was what I had been waiting for all my life! All my thoughts about myself, others, our planet, the cosmos, God, Jesus, and spirituality in general changed completely。 I had never felt so grateful in my life。 To be sure that you are a true child of God, who created this enormous universe, is something beyond words。 How amazing to be sure—even though there is an unimaginably long journey in front of us—that at some point in eternity we will reach the shores of Paradise。 These certainties started to change my life, and I still feel the impact of this book (or more precisely, the truth which I found within it) each and every day。Being introduced to The Urantia Book is the best thing that has happened in my life。 It totally changed my understanding of every possible aspect of life—not only spiritual ones but also concepts about my pursuits, family, values, etc。 I believe that one day I will become a father, and by having these concepts I will be able to give much more to this child than I could without these teachings。 The same could be said for my wife and my parents。What an unbelievable adventure is in front of me (what most of us call life), and I am grateful for every opportunity and lesson。 Also, I feel a huge responsibility as a cosmic citizen to be worthy of this gift and to do everything I can to help those who are not so lucky in their spiritual searches or everyday struggles。 I am still very far from what I believe I can and must achieve。 But knowing that a part of our Father lives within every one of us makes everything possible 。。。more
